This ad goes out to all those who want to find a purpose in what they’re doing and take accountability for their work.
At Blinkist, we’ve created a meaningful product that is growing fast. Our blinks – key insights from the world’s best nonfiction – help more than 3 million people around the globe to keep learning new, exciting things each and every day.
In 2017, our app received the World Summit Award, granted by the United Nations, in the Learning & Education category, as well as a Google Material Design Award for Brand Expressiveness.
Why do we need you?
Blinkist is growing quickly and we are looking for a working student for about 15 hours per week to help accelerate our ability to deliver a top-notch product to consumers. Your role will be to focus on our A/B testing process - you will help us execute it at every step (from designing the tests to running them and analysing the data) and you will also recommend ways we can improve it and make it more efficient.
You will be joining a small company with a huge mission and a healthy user base, with a lot more room to grow and develop. Along the way you will get clear guidance, goals and mentorship to help you develop and grow in the role.
This position is ideal for students interested in becoming product managers or data analysts and more broadly for anyone who is interested in working at a startup (or building one themselves!).
As a Working Student for A/B Testing you will be involved in the following:
Work with product managers to identify needs for A/B testing and design the tests: what scenarios will we test against each other, how will the test be run, what KPIs we will look at, etc.
Research existing product data to better understand what sort of impact an A/B test could produce and how to measure it, how many people should participate and how long the test will need to run.
Coordinate an A/B testing calendar by planning A/B tests in advance and understanding which can and cannot overlap.
Own the product and subscription management to enable tests of new product prices, subscription durations and others (e.g. create in-app purchases for the Play and App Store).
Prep and execute tests by making sure they are configured and working correctly and by monitoring test data during the test.
Analyze the results of an A/B test by designing and (ideally) building dashboards that track the different KPIs we are measuring. Perform an in-depth analysis of the data and report on the results to the rest of the company.
Propose decisions we should make based on the A/B test results.
To do this, we believe you need:
A background in technology, engineering, data, business or math.
Passion for digital products and an interest in how they are built and tested.
A solid understanding of how mobile technology works.
An ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
An eye for detail along with solid organizational skills.
Solid communication skills, written and spoken, in English.
Knowledge of SQL and some data analysis skills are a plus.
